Morspeed assembled short engines are ideal for the engine builder who already has a serviceable cylinder head and gearbox, all our short engines are precision machined, cleaned, cam timing set, painted and come with top quality parts built into a powerfull and reliable unit.
Please note that the prices include a refundable surcharge, to receive this refund, send us your old short engine within 4 weeks. If the returned items are in serviceable condition, we will process your refund promptly.
However, if the engine or components are too damaged and cannot be repaired, we will not be able to issue a refund.

998cc - 1275cc STANDARD
A completely standard 998cc or 1275cc assembled short engine machined to a finish far superior than when it left the factory and built with quality parts.
Cylinder block: Chemically cleaned, gasket faces cleaned and all threads checked, freshly bored to its next available size, cross hatched honed and fitted with new cam bearings, re-surfaced on the head gasket face then painted and fitted with new oil plugs and water core plugs.
Crankshaft: Micro polished STD size or re-ground to the next available size, supplied with O.E material mains and big end bearings, new STD size thrust bearings.
Conrods: Matched set checked for alignment, new bolts and fitted with new dished or flat top pistons (depending on application)
Camshaft & parts: Camshaft is a Kentcams 246 touring profile, new high grade cam followers, new simplex timing chain & tensioner, new oil pump.
Gaskets are supplied to assemble the kit.

Crankshaft: Micro polished STD size or re-ground to the next available size, supplied with O.E material mains and big end bearings, new STD size thrust bearings.
Conrods: Matched set checked for alignment, new bolts and fitted with new dished or flat top pistons (depending on application)
Camshaft & parts: Camshaft is a Kentcams 246 touring profile, new high grade cam followers, new simplex timing chain & tensioner, new oil pump.

Morspeed fully assembled engines are built and test bed run for approximately 2 hours before they leave using our own test bed ancillaries, (or your own if supplied) this allows us to check for any leaks or problems it also allows us to check the clutch is set correctly and all gears select as they should. we can also dyno power test and set up your engine for an extra cost.
Buying a fully assembled unit gives complete piece of mind, most of the engines we build are bespoke to the customer.

Fast road 998cc or 1275cc assembled short engine machined to a finish far superior than when it left the factory and built with quality parts.

Big bore 998cc or 1275cc assembled short engine designed to release the full potential of the A Series.

*998cc block can be pocketed to suit a 1275cc head for an extra £110
