Lets be transparent.... Cards on the table.

My journey with A-series race engines began in 1993 at the world renowned MED Engineering, after 11 successful years i left in 2004 to establish Morspeed which quickly earned a reputation for high quality race engines and modified cylinder heads. I supplied customers worldwide and supported major race series including Mini7, Miglia and Mighty Mini.
By 2007 rapid growth brought pressure and delays, in 2008 one unfortunate decision led to the collapse of the business, i declined a refund on a bespoke second hand race engine, something i will always regret, the situation escalated to court action and online slander resulting in cancelled orders and over £30,000 in refunds.
By 2009 i could no longer recover, the workshop was cleared out and i lost the company, the equipment and my reputation.
I'm sharing this openly because honesty matters.

Now lets move forward....

'A' series engines, components and machining have become extremely expensive putting them out the reach for many Mini enthusiasts. Large companies now outsource machining and buy in components, original core units grow harder to find.
For years former customers asked me to build modified heads and gearboxes again, i always declined - life had moved on, but in May 2025 after my work hours were reduced i decided it was time to listen.
With a small corner of a friends workshop and a donated head casting i produced my first Morspeed race head in 16 years, the customer was delighted and paid partly by giving me three old 998cc heads and two gearboxes, after refurbishing and selling them i began building a small stock of core units again.

What i offer now....

I'm rebuilding Morspeed slowly, sensibly and with complete transparency, affordable 'A' Series performance parts thanks to low overheads and spare time production.
This is not a large workshop operation just honest high quality engineering from someone who still loves the 'A' Series.

How to buy

If you see an item listed as "in stock" it is available for immediate delivery.
Always send a quick message to confirm availability and once purchased your item will be packaged and sent within 48 hours, you'll receive a tracked courier number via Email.

More complex items such as engine kits or fully built engines may not be in stock due to the difficulty obtaining core units, this process can be made quicker by sending in your own exchange unit beforehand.
Pre order items will require a deposit of 50% and usually have a lead time of 4 weeks.

All prices are exchange and include the surcharge, the surcharge may seem high but this is to encourage the return of a core unit within 4 weeks.
